Our Vacation at Caribe Resort Orange Beach AL.

In October of 2018 our family stayed at the Caribe Resort.  We had a great time!  This is a great place for Spring Break, Fall Break, or any time you need a vacation! There are many amenities and it’s close to many other things to do in the area. We rented our unit through VRBO. We drove so we had our car for driving around the area.  There is an assigned parking spot in the parking garage connected to our building. For more info on the resort you can get to the website here.

    The Pools

We spent almost equal amounts of time at all the pools.  It was not crowded when we were there so we always had chairs available. There are great things about each pool.  The kids really enjoyed the water slides that are in 2 separate pools. The hot tubs were also great, not too hot for the kids (tween aged) and we saw younger kids hopping in for a bit too.   All of the pools and pool decks were clean.  The downside is that some of the pool decks had actual wood and we all had minuscule splinters in our feet, wearing shoes or aqua socks would have solved that problem. There were signs posted, but we took the risk, our kids aren’t little and they weren’t bothered by them.   The water was not heated in all the pools, the temperature varied from pool to pool so It was a bit chilly to be in most of the pools at night. We really enjoyed the tiered pools, personally I liked sitting on the tiers in the super shallow water and dangling my feet over the ledge.  The pools were big enough to play catch or use skipper balls. Also, we enjoyed the lazy river.  We didn’t spend much time there as our boys never enjoy being “lazy”! The indoor pools were nice and had little slides for little kids and the water was warm.  The weather was so beautiful while we were there that we didn’t use the indoor pools except to stick our feet in to say we were in them!

    Games and Activities

There is a nice putt-putt area. To get the clubs you need to go to building B and leave your drivers licence and sign out the clubs and balls. There are nice basketball courts, bocce ball and corn hole areas.  While things are a bit spread out everything is within easy walking distance between and around the 3 towers. There is a small arcade with games for older kids and a few candy machines (gum balls, etc).  During certain hours you can also buy ice cream, beverages and other snack food pool side, just next to the arcade.  We checked out the work out facilities and they were nice,  everything was clean and in good repair.  There were cardio and weight machines.  The boat docks/marina was on the back side of the resort.  There is a nice restaurant on site as well.

    In our unit

Our unit was gorgeous! Granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, separate ice maker in the wet bar.  The furniture was comfortable, the rooms were spacious with plenty of closet space. The master suite had a deep whirlpool tub, stand alone shower with a lot of water pressure and massage shower heads.  There were 2 separate sinks and plenty of counter top space.  The balcony was large and we had two separate entrances, one from the main living area, one from the master suite. Our balcony had an electric grill, table and chairs and 2 lounge chairs. We also had washer/dryer in the unit. The entire building and grounds were clean and in good repair.  We had no noise issues or maintenance issues.

Overall we really enjoyed our Fall Break and would love to go back. I’m sure it’s awesome for Spring Break as well.

Here are some favorite pictures from our trip.
